You’ve been in American Literature for 4.5 weeks now. How has the class been going for you so far?

Prompt Response: The class has been going just fine so far. all of the assignments have been relatively easy and I've even enjoyed a couple of them especially creating a myth (that was really fun). The longer periods have allowed me to complete all my work in class and I haven't worried about not completing an assignment or having to work on it at home. In class time feels instructional and like I'm actually learning something and not just sitting at my desk bored. I do wish I was able to sit closer to my friends but other than that its been an enjoyable first few weeks in your 5th period class (also A lunch is goated).

Summary: we began working on our Dickinson soundtrack assignment

Reflection: I learned how to connect a song and its lyrics to the words and meanings of a poem

Prompt Response:  first word I think I will find myself using is Amoral because a. Ive already used it many times in both writing and speaking and b. I really like writing about human and animal physiology and amoral is used a lot in those topics. second word I will find myself using is affinity as I find it a better way to describe mildly liking or loving something  without just saying "like" or 'love".  And finally I think I'll find myself using amorphous because its commonly used in a lot of horror writing and descriptions which is my favorite genre of any type of content and its usage allows for a lot of interpretation from readers. Reflect on a time when you paused to appreciate the beauty of nature, much like the speaker in “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.” Where were you, what did you notice, and how did that moment of stillness make you feel or change your perspective?

Prompt Response:   I went to Philmont which is a scout outing where you hike across a mountain range in New Mexico, I went on a 14 day trek and felt connected to nature many different times but one specific moment that stands out to me is when after me and my group hiked up the final mountain called the Tooth of Time our campsite had a area kind of off to the side that was open and you could see all around the entire area of Philmont for miles. I remember waking up the next morning before the sun had really risen and just going to that spot and sitting looking out at the mountains, listening to the birds and the wind, feeling the grass and dirt on my hands made me feel connected to the mountain and nature. Summary: We began working on our poetry one pager Reflection:  I learned about how to split a poem into different categories

Write about a time when you were judged unfairly.

Prompt Response:  There are many times in my life where I was judged unfairly, but the most common and honestly aggravating is when I'm judged and people make assumptions about me for being the youngest child in my family, its especially common in my family where they just think that I'm immature or useless just because I'm the youngest. Others who aren't even in my family will just assume that I'm the favorite child of my parents 3 children just because I'm the youngest or that I'm spoiled or am a brat simply for being born after my brothers. Summary: We worked on a common lit assignment about how fear is a way our minds create stories Reflection:  I learned about how fear shouldn't be treated as a bad thing but that its another form of imagination and storytelling
