Reflect on a time when you paused to appreciate the beauty of nature, much like the speaker in “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.” Where were you, what did you notice, and how did that moment of stillness make you feel or change your perspective?

Prompt Response:   I went to Philmont which is a scout outing where you hike across a mountain range in New Mexico, I went on a 14 day trek and felt connected to nature many different times but one specific moment that stands out to me is when after me and my group hiked up the final mountain called the Tooth of Time our campsite had a area kind of off to the side that was open and you could see all around the entire area of Philmont for miles. I remember waking up the next morning before the sun had really risen and just going to that spot and sitting looking out at the mountains, listening to the birds and the wind, feeling the grass and dirt on my hands made me feel connected to the mountain and nature. Summary: We began working on our poetry one pager Reflection:  I learned about how to split a poem into different categories

In the poem, the speaker and his neighbor meet each year to repair a wall. Describe a time when you had to set or respect a boundary with a friend, family member, or classmate. How did it help or hurt your connection with that person?

Prompt Response:   A time i had to set a boundary with a friend was last year in theater, i was going through a rough time and had to ask them to not physically interact with me to much during practices. Luckily they were super respectful and we continued being friends despite not being physically as close as we normally were Summary: Today we did a common lit assignment and answered questions Reflection:  I learned about how to analyze a poem and answered questions related to the poem

Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

Prompt Response:  A time in my life when something changed quicker than expected was the summer between middle school and high-school. I had so much anxiety about going to high-school and i really hoped that the summer between 8th and 9th grade would be long but unfortunately it went by quickly.   Summary: We read two poems, analyzed the first as a class and then individually analyzed the second Reflection:  I learned more about how to analyze a poem on my own

In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

Prompt Response:   Imagination helps me cope by being a sort of distraction from the real world. Im a very imaginative person when it comes to art and stories. Summary: Today in class we analyzed another Robert Frost poem and began on working on our Birches: Climbing Back to Childhood presentation Reflection:  I learned about how to apply certain messages in poems to my real life experiences

After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

Prompt Response:  A time i was faced with a high pressure situation was a time when i had to walk through a portion of a small marsh that was swarming with bugs. It doesn't sound like that big of a deal to someone who's not as scared of bugs as me but my unfortunate and very severe irrational phobia of insects has caused me many serious issues such as panic attacks and extreme anxiety that could last for hours after an encounter with insects. I had to walk through the marsh that was swarmed with flies, mosquitoes, and knats. Like it was so bad that the greenery around it was blocked out by the bugs. The only way i could get through was by covering my ears and very intensely staring at the ground. If i had not been focused on not freaking out i would have probably had tripped in the march and gotten hurt or worse possibly have a panic attack in the middle of the swarm of bugs which would make it way worse. Despite getting through the marsh i did unfortunately have a panic attack...

Write about what you did over the Fall Break.

Prompt Response:  I went to Missouri over the break for a few collage tours and drive down to Alabama for a football game. We stayed at hotels, a resort, and in a really nice cabin at a state park. I was bored on the tours and I didn't watch the football game (cuz I don't like football) so I just sat in the hall and waited for the game to be over. Summary: We began working on our vocab comic Reflection:  I reviewed some new vocab words and learned how to use them in sentences
